Serving The Tri-Cities

Marketing for the Whole Tri-Cities, From the Middle of It

The Tri-Cities is more than half a million people spread across two states, six or seven counties depending on who is counting, and three cities that each do business their own way. Trident Media Group sits in the middle of it, in Sullivan County, about fifteen minutes from downtown Kingsport, State Street in Bristol, and Johnson City. Same county as the airport that gives the region its name. We are not an agency that added the Tri-Cities to a service list. It is where we live, work, and have built a full-service marketing team.

One Region, Three Very Different Markets

People outside the region hear “Tri-Cities” and picture one place. Anyone who works here knows better. Johnson City, Kingsport, and Bristol share a media market, an airport, and an interstate, and almost nothing else about how their customers search, shop, and decide. A strategy that treats them as one market leaves money on the table in all three.

Johnson City

The largest of the three and the fastest growing, anchored by East Tennessee State University and the headquarters of Ballad Health. A young, educated, health-and-education economy with a downtown that has reinvented itself and a lot of new residents choosing their doctors, contractors, and restaurants from a phone.

Kingsport

A manufacturing town with a global company at its center. Eastman’s headquarters, Domtar, and the Holston plant shape an economy where a lot of local businesses sell to other businesses, and where a purchasing manager’s opinion of your website matters as much as a homeowner’s. Planned as the Model City in 1917 and about to add thousands of new residents.

Bristol, Tennessee & Virginia

One downtown, two states, and a state line down the middle of the main street. Bristol has the speedway, the Birthplace of Country Music, and since 2024 a casino resort where the mall used to be, which makes it a visitor town in a way it never was. Local search here has to work on both sides of State Street and for people who are only in town for the weekend.
We wrote pages about each city because each one deserves it. As we add more, they will show up here.
Services That Work For You

Everything a Tri-Cities Business Needs, Under One Roof

Our team of dedicated professionals brings deep expertise across every discipline we offer. We’re focused on one outcome: meaningful, measurable growth for your business.

Digital Media

Google Ads, social ads, display, retargeting, and streaming TV, targeted to the Tri-Cities zip codes that matter to you and nowhere else.

Organic Marketing

Search, local SEO, content, and social that build visibility you own, tuned to how each of the three cities actually searches.

Traditional Media

The Tri-Cities is its own television market. That means a local TV or cable buy reaches exactly this audience without paying for Knoxville. We plan and place it.

Creative Services

Branding, video, photography, and print, produced in-house so the spot, the site, and the sign all look like they came from the same company. Because they did.

Websites

Custom sites built to convert, load fast, and rank, designed by a team that knows which side of State Street you are on.

We do It All

We get it. You’re trying to either start, maintain, or grow your business and we are here for every step of that journey. Being a full service, in-house marketing and advertising firm we can easily exceed your needs.

And Every Town in Between

The Tri-Cities does not stop at the city limits, and neither do we. We work with businesses across Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia, including:

Tennessee

Sullivan County, Washington County, Carter County, Greene County, Hawkins County, Unicoi County, and Johnson County, including Elizabethton, Greeneville, Jonesborough, Erwin, Rogersville, Church Hill, Mount Carmel, Bluff City, Piney Flats, Gray, Colonial Heights, and Mountain City.

Virginia

Bristol, Washington County, Scott County, and Smyth County, including Abingdon, Gate City, Weber City, Glade Spring, Damascus, and Marion.
Beyond the region, we work with clients across the Southeast and nationwide who want an agency that still picks up the phone.

Why Tri-Cities Businesses Work With Trident

We are actually here

Search for a marketing agency in any of the three cities and most of what comes back is a location page from a company three states away. We are in Sullivan County. We shop in these towns, we know who your competitors are, and we can be in your office in fifteen minutes.

A full team, not a freelancer

Strategy, design, development, copy, video, media buying, and account management, all in-house. When your project needs a second set of hands, they are down the hall, not on a marketplace.

Three markets, three playbooks

We do not run the same campaign in Kingsport that we run in Johnson City, because the customers are not the same. Knowing the difference is most of the job.

Plain communication

Insights, updates, and honest answers at every step. You will always know what we did and why.

We’ve Got The Answers To Your Burning Questions

Answer:

Johnson City, Kingsport, and Bristol, Tennessee and Virginia, plus the counties and towns around them in Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia. Definitions vary a little depending on who is drawing the map. If you are within about an hour of the airport, you are in our backyard.

Answer:

Both. A good share of our clients are in Elizabethton, Greeneville, Jonesborough, Abingdon, and towns like them. The city pages above go deep on each market; the service-area list is the honest picture of where we work.

Answer:

No. The region is home, and it is where we know the most, but we have clients across the Southeast and nationwide. The same team and the same standards apply wherever you are.

Answer:

Yes. Our office is in Sullivan County, about fifteen minutes from each of the three cities. Come to us, or we will come to you.

Answer:

It depends on what you sell and to whom, which is what the discovery call is for. Most local businesses start with a website that works and local SEO that gets it found, then add advertising once there is something worth sending traffic to.
